Faith Statement

WHO WE ARE

The Church is the Body of Christ, the agency of God, evangelizing the world with a divine commission.
We believe we are a part of the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.
"We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us. "We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God". (2 Corinthians 5:20).
"God has given us the task of telling everyone what He is doing. We're Christ's representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God's work of making right between them. We're speaking for Christ Himself now: Become friends with God: He's already a friend with you. (2 Corinthians 5:20, Message).

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  • The Bible, Old and New Testament, is the divinely inspired and only infallible and authoriative written Word of God to man. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)
  • The one true God has revealed Himself as the eternally Self-Existent "I AM", the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He has
    also revealed Himself eternally existent in Three Persons: God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy
    Spirit. (Isaiah 43:10; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22).
  • In the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God.
    The Bible declares:
    His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31-35)
    His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22)
    His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38)
    The substitution work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21)
    His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4)
    His exaltation to the right hand of the Father (Acts 1:9,11; Phillipians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3)
    His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule for one thousand years (Zechariah 14:5; Matthew 24:27,30; Revelation1:7, 19:11-14, 20:1-6)
  • In the Blessed Hope - The resurrection of those who have fallen asleep in Christ and their translation together with those who are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord.
    (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Romans 8:23; Titus 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:51-53)
  • Man's only hope of salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God.
    Salvation is recieved through repentance toward God and the faith in the Lord
    Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the
    Holy Ghost, man is justified by grace through faith (Luke 24:47; John 3:3;
    Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7).

    • The inward evidence of salvation is the abiding presence and leading of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:16).
    • The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and holy living. (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12).

  • Water baptism and Holy Communion are ordinances to be observed by the believer showing identification with death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. However, they are not being regarded as a means of salvation. (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:16; Romans 6:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26; 2 Peter 1:4).
  • Healing for the human body and soul is provided in the truth and the power of the Gospel. (Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; James 5:14-16).
  • The baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask for it. This is an experience distinct and subsequent to the experience of salvation. (Acts8:12-17,10:44-46,11:14-16, 15:7-9, 19:1-6).
  • Sanctification is realized in the believer by recognizing his identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. The sanctifying power of the indwelling Holy Spirit enables the believer to live a holy life. (Romans 6:11,13,8:1-2;
    Galatians 2:20; Phillipians 2:12-13; 1 Peter 1:5).
  • What God revealed in Christ is every true beleiver's heritage. (2 Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 1:3-12).
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: those whose name is written in the Book of Life, unto eternal life; those whose name is not written, unto eternal separation from God. (Matthew 25:46; Mark 9:45-48; Revelation 20:11-15, 21:8).
  • The church is the Body of Christ, the agency of God for evangelizing the world with a divine commission: to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature.
