Pastor's Bio
Pastor DeVon Williams was born and raised in South Carolina. He knew at the early age of 13, that there was a calling on his life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that one day he would do so in the State of California. His mother, Pastor Eunice Williams, was instrumental in his spiritual heritage, and calling to God's service. He was ordained into the ministry at the age of 19. Afterward, Pastor DeVon joined the US Navy.
While in the Navy, Pastor DeVon saw a great need for the Gospel to be preached, and he started a shipboard ministry on the USS Horne. During that time, he had the privilege of preaching salvation to the lost and to see lives changed by the power of God in countries all over the world. After leaving the US Navy, he took a position as an assistant pastor with a ministry in San Diego, California, and served there for 10 years.
In 1990, Pastor DeVon married Tanya Sutton whom he met while both served in the US Navy. They have been married for 18 years, and have four beautiful children: Cierra, Chloe, Vanessa, Marcellus, and 2 precious granddaughters, Olivia and Sofia.
In 2001, God called Pastor DeVon and Tanya to pioneer a church in San Diego, California, City Christian Center (formerly known as the City of Lights Worship Center). Their vision is to continue to move forward with the great commission of winning souls for Christ.
Pastor DeVon and Tanya currently attend the Benny Hinn Signs and Wonders School of Ministry, and have been ordained under the pastorate of Benny Hinn in 2006. God's empowered calling on Pastor DeVon and Tanya Williams is not only to the nation of the United States, but to the nations of the world.
